toiletry essentials

28/02/2022 by Bridget

Finding toiletry essentials has been a journey. We travel quite a bit and I wanted the product to be excellent and have good ingredients. I like it when the toiletries can double up in use as well. We have skin allergies and sensitivities in our family and so the products had to help that and not irritate the conditions.

But finding that taking as little as possible on a trip with me and having the things double up in usefulness is a win-win situation. This is a joy to me!

finding a solution for home

Simple home beauty routine: A simple cleanser and moisturizer are what I look for in a beauty routine. What I love about having my toiletry essentials is that I have and use what is good. I simply wash my face with Weleda Clarifying Cleansing Face Gel and then moisturize with Skin Food Light. I use the Skin Food Body Butter for the rest of my body and then I am done. My feet also get a little bit of love with this Foot Balm, okay – now I am done. These are permanently on my shelf at home.

There are many other good products in this line, but I keep it simple.

I found Weleda skin food by accident and it fits in perfectly with my needs when I am at home. I am a very practical person and I want to find the simplest solution to a problem.

Simple sports routine: When I am at home I usually do a fair amount of sports so I shower quite a lot. I also go to public swimming pools, so I have a backpack ready to go with all of the toiletry essentials. Having to pack and unpack my things every time totally bugs me because I know that I will forget something.

The Weleda Skin Food, Weleda Clarifying Cleansing Face Gel, and the Citrus Deodorant are all permanently in my sports backpack. I’ve also tried quite a few deodorants over time, and I love this one. It is refreshing, not too overpowering, and effective.

finding a solution for travel

These are my toiletry essentials for travel too. What I love most about either the Weleda ultra-rich skin food or the light version is that I can use them on my face, my body, and my hair. Three in one, what a bonus for when you are on the go and have packing restrictions and have to have to make do with a few things. After I have washed my hair and after I have moisturized my body, I take the residue that is on my hands and rub it through my hair. This works for me as a conditioner and I love it.

I prefer the light one on my face and body, especially in summer. It is a herbal blend of chamomile, calendula, and pansy. All beautiful natural ingredients.

The product is also free from synthetic compounds or toxic chemicals. I love this, people! I’m not looking further. The use of flowers, fruit, root extracts, minerals, and essential oils all sound right up my alley. This is what I’ve been looking for for a very long time.

all-natural toiletry essentials

I even once entertained the thought of me making my own stuff, I love all-natural ingredients and got so tired of reading labels. This idea lasted all of 3 seconds because it was too fiddly for me and I never felt that I’d trust what I made. Leaving it to the professionals is a far better option for me.

These products are free from synthetic compounds or toxic chemicals. Instead, they use flower, fruit, and root extracts, minerals, and essential oils, each one carefully selected and orchestrated to work with your body’s own systems.

The ultra-rich skin food is a wonder on my elbows and on my heels.

Another bonus product that I have discovered from Weleda is:

Weleda Citrus Refreshing Body & Beauty Oil

The Weleda Citrus Refreshing Body and Beauty Oil was a total surprise to me. I’m always on the lookout for a pure and natural product. Our daughter is allergic to an ingredient found in most adult beauty and in some children’s products. This makes us read labels all the time. The listed ingredients are almond oil and lemon oil. They also advertise that it is good for sensitive skin. That is always a good place for us to start.

After using it for a while we knew that we loved it and it would soon be one of our favorite products. The surprise came when I was bitten by a horsefly! Last summer when I was out running through the farm fields, this was a problem.

Every time I was bitten, this happened every week, and I would suffer. The bite would swell and get inflamed, this was not pleasant. I tried various products and didn’t get much relief.

By accident one day I put on Weleda Citrus Body and Beauty Oil and I saw that the bite reduced in itchiness and the swelling went down.

Wow, this was totally unexpected and a very pleasant find. So, this summer my sessions of running training have been a far better experience.

I now keep it close by, whether I am traveling or simply at home.

promoting a product

I do not know the beliefs and ethics of the company but I do like the use of natural ingredients. That is what I promote and if I ever find that I do not love what the company stands for, then I will remove this promotion and will be on the hunt again for something new.

Promoting products is also not quite my expertise or passion, so I will not be doing these often. But, when something is effective and offers me a simple solution, then I will rave about it here on @amilliongraces. My wish then is to help someone else and spare them the long search.

So for as long as I am a traveler and love doing runs wherever I am, the above-mentioned products will be in my bag!
