I love to have great bedding storage ideas that are simple and smart. We are often on-the-go and we often have guests. We need to find our bedding and our guests need to find our bedding when we are not at home and they are using our space. Yes, this happens and we love it.

There are many ways of storing your bedding.
It does depend on your storage capacity and how much bedding you have.
We do not have a lot, and that’s how we like to keep it.
Each guest bed has its own set and we wash after each visitor. One set per bed – YES;)
The sets are different in the different guest rooms. This makes it quick and easy to get the bedding sorted out quickly after washing them. We have three guest rooms – so we have a green set, a colourful set and a white set.

OTTOMANS
Storage ottomans provide great places to store bedding and also games. If the ottoman is where the sleeping takes place then that is a great way to store the bedding. We store games in our ottoman when it is in the living room.
But when it is in the bedrooms, then we store some extra towels or blankets in there. Adapt your storage to what you need.

We have no suitable sleeping options in the lounge. Adapt your storage of extra linens to where your will be needing them.
Sometimes the extra blankets are stored on top of the ottoman because it is an excellent way to have easy access to to these cosy blankets. The blankets on top of the ottoman both protects the ottoman and provides a comfortable sleep for the cat;)

CLOSET SPACE
In one of the bedrooms, we only have one change of bedding for the bed in there. The extra linens include the pillow cases, and a fitted sheet. The hand towels for that bedroom and bathroom are also stored in the closet.

They are a colour that matches the larger towels because I want to keep the system simple & smart. These hands towels do not migrate to the other bathroom. This is part of our great bedding storage ideas because it is the easiest way to store and pack away and then to find them again.
storage solutions to use or adapt to your space
WICKER BASKETS OR BLANKET LADDERS
These are two fantastic ways to store sets of sheets and bed linens. I have adapted and used a wooden crate to store sheet sets and extra bedding in our guest room.

The matching pillowcase and bed sheet are stored with the duvet in the crate because the bed doubles as a couch when not being slept in. The wooden crates double as a coffee table and lamp stand when the bedding is on the beds.
This has been a fun adaptation to have. Who says great bedding storage ideas that are simple & smart can’t be fun too?

A blanket ladder are also decorative and blankets can easily be draped over the rungs. I will give this a try at some point too. Do you use a blanket ladder? How does it work for you?

DRAWERS
In the family room & office where we have drawers in the bed frame, the small spaces accommodate a lot of bedding and other useful items. This storage area can take the vacuum storage bags as well.
Vacuum bags are a great way to store duvets during the warm months. The vacuum makes them much smaller and compact.

SHELVING UNIT
Another simple & smart solution is using a shelving unit that has both space for bedding storage and for books. The baskets in these shelving units also can function as shelf dividers.
Storage can be simple & smart but also beautiful.

reasons & needs for storage
Whether you need a temporary solution or a solution for a long time simple & smart solutions can be found.

Storage space and storage container usage determines what is being stored. If you have less space or limited space, the back of a door or the foot of your bed may be a great solution for extra storage.
Plastic bins can store warm blankets when you do not have enough space in your apartment or home. Bed sheets stored there will be easily accessible and protected.
