delicious quick and easy low-carb breakfasts

23/05/2022 by Bridget

Delicious quick and easy low-carb breakfasts are the easiest way to set you up for success on any given day. These very simple, yet delicious breakfasts can easily become part of any family’s routine. It has for us.

cup of coffee

They provide you with enough energy and keep your weight loss goals in check.

I make sure that I have these ingredients always at hand and then we rotate through the options.

I no longer have to check through the list and I can shop for this and prepare these breakfasts wherever we are. No fancy equipment is needed. We love simple, real ingredients and how accessible they are to find in most countries.

simplicity is key

These delicious and easy low-carb breakfasts are so easy to prepare and are suitable for any member of the family.

Life is not always about dieting (please don’t let it be) and thinking about what you should or shouldn’t eat. But sometimes we all need to eat what would help us reach a goal, and if it is for sustained energy or weight loss, this will help.

It is not great to start a new eating plan or diet that is not sustainable, but for us, this one is sustainable because it is easy, delicious, and simple. This is so easy to do and we love to eat this way.

It still amazes me how much we gravitate towards these breakfasts and I know that we will have the ingredients on hand. They are part of the grocery lists now.

cornflakes and milk

This combination has been available to us all for a long time. We always look for the brand without sugar. It does not take much to put together and then you are set for the day. The choice of milk is up to you, but we like and stick with the full-fat version.

bowl of cornflakes and milk

When we are trying to lose a bit of weight we eat it as is. But we also add in some yogurt or some fruit too. This is especially useful to do when we know that our morning will be a bit busy and that there will not be time for a snack, then we add the snack in here.

eggs, tomatoes, and crackers

The choice of egg preparation helps to mix this up. We love to either poach the eggs or fry them. Those are our main options but using boiled and scrambled eggs add to the variety.

fried egg and cherry tomatoes

The tomatoes can be lightly fried as well and then add in some herbs, salt, and pepper. When the tomatoes are fresh and delicious, then we simply slice them up thinly and enjoy them in that way.

We love corn crackers, they taste delicious with the tomatoes and eggs piled onto them. This is a very satisfying breakfast. Once you get into the routine of this, the preparation of this goes super quick.

yogurt and fruit

We love to make our own yogurt at home so we always have plain yogurt on hand to use in our breakfasts, snacks, or any other meal. We never buy flavored yogurts. With plain yogurt in the fridge, the options of flavors are endless.

We always have bananas, oranges, and apples in our fruit baskets. Sliced bananas added to yogurt are totally delicious as is and are quick and easy to add. This combination is fantastic if you have just come in from a run and you are needing to refuel quickly.

bowl of yogurt with a strawberry in it

When we add apples we either grate in the apples or chop them up into small bite-sized pieces. We love to add a pinch of cinnamon to this combo. It is a winner.

The addition of the orange changes it up altogether and we love this refreshing combo. We peel the orange and then we chop it up into bite-sized pieces before adding it to the yogurt.

Other fruits that we love are khakis, blueberries, strawberries, and mangoes. The possibilities are endless. When the supply of fresh fruit is limited, we often substitute the fruit with frozen fruit. This works very well too.

sliced ham, crackers, and cucumber

It is so easy to grab a variety of cold cuts from the deli section and this is when the deliciousness can be enjoyed. We enjoy this breakfast with the most basic of hams, to the most delicate of cuts. Use what you can find and enjoy.

sliced ham and cucumber

The corn crackers piled up with a slice of cold cut and a few thinly sliced pieces of cucumber, make for a very satisfying, quick breakfast. To this combination, we simply add salt and pepper. They are delicious.

rotation of the delicious quick and easy low-carb breakfasts

By sticking to this rotation you will not become bored with breakfast. The variety will help you stay on the ‘dieting’ course. I can eat this for breakfast for weeks on end because I love these combinations. If you give them a try you will too.

I start the week with the cornflakes on the first day, and then on the second day – I enjoy the eggs, crackers, and tomatoes. I move on to the yogurt and fruit and the day after the ham, cucumber, and crackers.

This is a four-day rotation so it does not become boring and neither is it too cumbersome to get used to.

I just repeat this and then that is breakfast and losing weight sorted. I also love doing this after we have traveled and have gotten out of routine, this both resets my body and my mind towards eating more simply and more healthy.

grocery list for delicious quick and easy low-carb breakfasts

  • cornflakes (preferably without sugar)
  • milk (according to preference)
  • eggs
  • tomatoes
  • crackers (any glutenfree cracker)
  • yogurt (plain – nothing added)
  • cold cuts (variety is best)
  • cucumber

other great breakfasts that we love

We also often have oats. This is what we also add to the rotation and it takes the rotation from four delicious quick and easy low-carb breakfasts to an eight delicious quick and easy breakfasts rotation breakfast.

  • plain oatmeal granola dust
  • instant oats
  • easy overnight oats
  • plain oatmeal family breakfast

We do not always keep our breakfasts low-carb but we like to move up and down the carb scale depending on what we are feeling like or hoping to achieve. Dieting and eating are something we can learn to live with to achieve our goals.

Some people stay low-carb and others add carbs in. Each of us has to learn what suits our bodies and lifestyle.

Let me know in the comments below what works for you.
