Overnight oats – travel-friendly & easy
This is our standard. I can put this together in any hotel room. It has some basic ingredients – oats, milk, yogurt, & bananas. You can use other fresh fruit and you can also add a sweetener like a maple syrup or honey.

The first thing to do is to remember to use about half a cup portion per person and to mix the oats, milk, and yogurt the night before and then just add the fruit in the morning before you head out of the door.
Granola dust in a jar
STAR OF the 10 best breakfast ideas: grab-and-go, travel-friendly & easy
I always have granola dust made at home. I can get all the ingredients at my local grocery store and it always provides me with a filling breakfast. The basic ingredients are oats, nuts & seeds, dried fruit, coffee, and cocoa powder.
This is a family favorite and when I have it on the shelf we always feel that we have something to eat.
When I have to get up early to head out for an early morning swim then this is what I often take with me. The night before I mix about half a cup of granola dust with half a cup of milk and put the mason jars in the fridge with the lid on.

In the morning I put about 3 tablespoons of greek yogurt or homemade yogurt on and either blueberries or banana on top. Fresh berries of any variety can be used but we love blueberries. A good option too is to keep good supplies of frozen berries in your freezer, making this easier to make in a pinch.
Homemade instant oats
We love oats, you may have guessed that by now;)

- 75 grams of brown sugar (optional)

The key ingredient or ingredient that makes this transportable is dried milk.
It is a great way to avoid having to transport milk in its liquid form. I have made this many times with both cold and hot water. It is a great option for either busy mornings or to take with you on business trips.

The good thing about this is that in most hotels or any stopover place you should be able to find some hot or cold water. This is a winner when you are starting your road trip meal planning and are looking for super easy road trip meals to add to your repertoire.

I do not often travel with snacks because they bug me until I get to eat them. This is true, most of the time but what I mostly have is a combination of various nuts and dried fruit always in my sports bag. This often sustains me if it feels like my blood sugar has dropped. Thankfully this doesn’t happen anymore but they get me home and prevent me from grabbing an unhealthy snack on the way home.
